Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrazak Abdulrahman has released twenty three (23) convicted Inmates to enjoy the Eid-kabir festival with their families
In addition ,the Governor reviewed the cases of eighteen lifers in which: 10 lifers were commuted to 21 years imprisonment, 6 lifers commuted to 10 years Imprisonment and 2 lifers commuted to 2 years imprisonment.
This was made known by the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Correctional Services, Kwara State Command, SC Adegbulugbe Philip Olumide in a statement made available to newsmen in llorin
Also, a female inmate serving 7 years Imprisonment was reviewed to six months imprisonment. the Governor paid their transport fee to their various destinations.
The reduction and the release was based on the health status of the inmates and the believe that the inmates have turn for better.
Also, the Controller of Corrections in the State Mr Danmairomu Shuaib Ayodeji lauded the Governor for the good gesture. advised the inmates to be worthy ambassadors of their various homes such as not to go back to crime.
Ayodeji applauded the Controller General of Corrections, Haliru Nababa for giving him the enabling environment to operate and the State Ministry of justice for reducing congestions in the various custodial Centres
