Over ten thousand Students of the University of Ilorin has so far benefited from the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) Scheme of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration towards advancing the education career
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Wahab Egbewole (SAN) made this known in llorin on Monday while unveiling the 50th anniversary logo heralding the line -up activities for celebrations.
Egbewole explained that 10,789 Students of the University had benefited from NELFUND Scheme, pointing out that many other students are still expecting to benefit from the Scheme to boost their education pursuit
He reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to actualizing its strategic plans aimed at elevating its status as a world-class university. stressed that the institution’s 2024–2028 strategic plan is designed to strengthen research, infrastructure, and community engagement.
“Our strategic plan is a work in progress, and it will place the university on the right pedestal,” he said. “We are committed to pushing the boundaries of research, improving infrastructure, and fostering meaningful community engagement.An innovation hub and other projects are already in place to drive student initiatives.”
The Vice-Chancellor expressed satisfaction with the university’s achievements over the past year, adding that efforts are on to overcome challenges and produce graduates who are job creators rather than job seekers calling on the institution’s alumni association to lend their support toward the university’s growth and development.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the 50th Anniversary Ceremonial Committee, Professor Olugbenga Mokuolu, highlighted the significance of the newly unveiled logo, stating that it reflects the aspirations and vision of the university as it celebrates its golden jubilee.
Mokuolu said that the University is out to celebrate excellency, in terms of research, innovation and student’s among other activities to celebrate the Successess the University had made since its establishment.
