The Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s strategic focus on industrialization, job creation, Youths and women empowerment had been a Success story for the state Garment Factory
This was made known by the Managing Director, Kwara Garments Factory, Hajjia Bukola Adedeji while Speaking at the Ministerial press conference in llorin on Tuesday on the sidelines of quarter 1,2025 achievements of the state government.
According to her, “None of this will be possible without the bold leadership of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON), whose industrialisation drive continues to position state as a rising force in Nigeria’s economy,” Adedeji said.
Her words “the Factory, built to empower, employ, and elevate, has created thousands of direct and indirect jobs, with particular focus on women and youths. highlighting the achievements of the Garment Factory between the First quarter of 2025 .
She said that the Garment Factory received the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu (OON), who endorsed the Factory’s efforts toward empowering women and youths. In a show of support, she awarded ₦20,000 stipends to hundreds of the factory workers.
The Factory also introduced a robust quality control system to enhance production standards and took strategic steps to position itself for continental trade under the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).
The MD noted that factory produced branded apparel for the Renewed Hope Initiative Agricultural Programme and the supply of custom souvenir items to the First Lady of Kwara State, Ambassador Professor Olufolake AbdulRazaq. Additionally, the Factory delivered branded T-shirts and caps to the State Residents Registration Agency (KWASRRA).
She added that the factory saw the delivery of uniforms to TASCON, Ilorin and the production of over 25,000 tote bags for a major organization—further underscoring the Factory’s capacity for large-scale production. Public visibility also improved significantly .
The Factory continued to expand its impact by producing branded polo shirts for the KWARA LEARN educational initiative and custom Aso-Oke souvenir bags for the Nigerian Air Force, set to be presented during the upcoming African Armed Forces event. She further stressed.
Reflecting on the achievements, Hajia Adedeji stated, “The Kwara Garment Factory has become a shining example of Governor AbdulRazaq’s commitment to industrialization, job creation, and inclusive growth.” affirmed the Factory’s commitment to deepening its impact by expanding production, empowering more Kwarans, and positioning the Factory as a continental leader in garment manufacturing.
